Is this a city? Or a joke?

Pretty terrible. No creativity. I barely had to think at all to complete it.

I appreciate beginner-level puzzles as I learn these puzzles, but it's helpful to have interesting, recognizable pictures to work on. This was dull.

I thought it was alright. I like very simple puzzles sometimes.
I'm not sure what 'Kvartal' means. It might be Russian for a tower block?

Norwegian for 'quarter' according to Google translate!

Well, I liked it, anyway. I wanted something quick and easy. I liked that the windows on the buildings were different. It's very basic, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I personally liked this one! A quick Google search seems to say that "Kvartal" is Swedish for a Quarter - or - a city block, which I think makes sense for this image!

If you visit cities that were in the Eastern bloc, you will find miles upon miles of plain gray high-rise buildings. The tree is the message of hope in the midst of that terrible ugliness and conformity. Well done, Barva!

Zagorodny Kvarta is an example - translated it means "Country Quarter" A new developement in Moscow - designed by Californian architects!

See:

http://zagorodny-kvartal.ru/about/

It makes the image very understandable

In June 2014 the complex was a winner of the Real Estate Records Awards in the nomination for Best Low-Rise Complex.

Kvarta is also the name of an Ikea curtain track - but I think that we should discount the Ikea Idea on Here!

Really well done, John! Thank you for finding this. I think some of our new university student housing borrowed from this model. Here's John's link again. It's definitely worth a look: http://rdcm.com/en/projects/zagorodny-kvartal/ !

Honestly, I skipped this easy one for a bit, because I thought it was a boat. Figured, too easy for what seems revealed in the grid. I was surprised and glad I did this one. It is not the boat I thought it would be.
