Especially for you - poems by the famous Russian poet and writer Ivan Bunin. Maybe they will answer your question.
No, the dead are not dead to us!
There is an old Scottish legend,
That their shadows, invisible to the eye,
Come to visit us at midnight,
That dusty harps hanging on the walls,
Mysteriously touch their hands
And awaken in the dormant strings
Sad and sweet sounds.
We call legends fairy tales,
We are deaf during the day, we do not understand the day;
But in the twilight we live fairy tales
And trustingly listen to the silence.
We do not believe in ghosts; but we too
Languish with love, languish with the longing of separation...
I have listened to them, I have heard them more than once,
These sad and sweet sounds!

You seldom see a very huggable ghost!
