I didn't find that at all. I've done many colour puzzles (usually much larger ones) where there have been two colours that were hard to distinguish, but I didn't find that at all with this one.
I wondering if it makes a difference if you do these on a phone, laptop, or a larger monitor. I use a monitor, about 19", not very big by today's standards.

Yeah, it was a 50/50 guess for me as to which was black and which was other black.
Each to their own. I didn’t find it a problem.
