Quite painful to do (particularly for the two similar grays, which take time to single out from each other), and the final result may not be worth the time spent on it.

I only discovered this recently, but if you click and hold the colour in the side panels ie the box with the colour and number in it, it will select that colour for you. So no need to select from the top row. This is massively helpful to reduce scrolling on the bigger puzzles and also removes any problems when colours are closely matched.
