I can still remember the smell of the finishing liquid that came in a tube with a sponge. You rubbed it over the print to keep it from fading, I guess. It was certainly toxic, but apparently no problem for kids to use. HAHAHA!

I found an image of the "print coater" fluid. It was gone by the end of the 60s.
