That's the girl who gave a tour through her house, in a book titled "Bij Kiki thuis" for six year olds.

I wasn't aware of that! I based this drawing from the Studio Ghibli movie: "Kiki's Delivery Service". I look into that book!

This reminds me of one of my own early puzzles, in that the picture's alright but this isn't really a puzzle. :/

I see what you mean. Difficulty is still something I am working on. Do you have any tips to make the puzzle harder? I want to increase difficulty but preserve nice colours and shading. Appreciate the comment!

The best way I've found is to increase the amount of white ("empty") cells _inside_ the main shape. Try changing all colored cells to black, and see if it forms a single, simple shape. If it does, the puzzle might end up being _very_ easy. The more you break up that black shape, the harder the puzzle gets. You can sometimes achieve this by simply turning the lightest color in your puzzle fully white.
Of course, once you break up the shape, you'll then start running into problems with puzzles being completely unsolvable, but that's something we all have to learn to deal with. It's usually easy enough to solve that problem, unless your puzzle is REALLY complex.
Good luck!
