It took me a while to get through this--this was certainly not a gimme, even with the three empty columns. Very impressive!

Thank you! I found it hard, too. Actually, it is just because snakes and apples are so iconic for nonograms. One could go deeper and wonder if some worms/viruses were trying to get into the apple of the new year to spoil it, but that would be taking it too far. Let's just keep snakes away from apples!

Just got to this one. I forgot I needed to catch up on tiny color ones. I have to say this is one of the most unique layouts I have encountered.
