Watching the image come together was lots of fun may want to tag this one as nsfw just for the sake of people who have issues with guns

Not to mention how co-workers feel when you draw a gun in the workplace
replyI don't like cats but I don't bitch about solving puzzles with cats.
replyGood image - fun to solve - and for the psychologists who also enjoy this site the added bonus of discovering that some people can't control their sanctimonious instincts. There are numerous subjects that I don't like on this site - but, no doubt, none of the other participants are remotely interested in my personal views. People who feel that they have to ruin the surprise for others because of their own personal, misguided opinions are extremely selfish, arrogant and inconsiderate. I'm not a lobbyist for or against such items. I have no personal interest in them, nor any desire to own one, nonetheless - this is an entertainment site and prats who try and ruin the fun for others should perhaps find a different outlet for their prejudices.

I think the issue is that guns are seen by an enormous majority as harmful. My dear friend's son was murdered, so I view guns with distaste rather than entertainment. A lot of people agree with me. It's not quite the same as an individual emotional trigger (such as Nancok's comment about crocodiles above), because guns kill and maim far more people, on a much more regular and senseless basis, than crocodiles or other potentially deadly things.

It would be interesting to know your evidence for stating "enormous majority" - surely this would depend on which country and the respective laws. Guns per se do not kill people, it's the nutters that shoot them. You may want to pick up a history book or two and you will recognise that long before guns were invented; massacres, murders, suicides occurred in great numbers throughout the world. If magically we could abolish guns immediately, the nutters would find another way of killing. The reason why crocodiles and other deadly things don't kill as many people is because animals, usually, don't have irrational homicidal or suicidal instincts. I don't agree with gun ownership nonetheless they exist in our society. This site is still an entertainment site. The entertainment is in the resolution of the puzzle irrespective of the subject. You should find a more appropriate location for your soap box.

I agree. FUN FACT: Guns don't do the killing, the gun owners/thieves do. my thoughts in this image are actually more like, "hey this gun is kind of like a pirate's gun, or a cowboy's revolver!" I understand, u/ageleni, that you are sad due to the death of a friend's son by gunshot, but this is a NONOGRAM, NOT A REAL WEAPON! also, u/SJF, this is not the actual weapon. this is an entertainment site. Not a murder glorification system. Also, Does anyone know how to become an author on this site? i have a few lovely ideas for nonograms.
replyGreat depiction of a gun. People need to stop being so crazy! It's just a nonogram.
replyHonest question to everyone who takes issue with the subject matter (probably no reason not to just spoil at this point, but oh well): do you take as much offense to other media that depicts this item? At least in the US, this subject is ubiquitous across all media. TV, movies, graphic novels, books, video games, and paintings. It is used by both protagonists and antagonists alike, often with similar results. While it is seen less now in media geared toward children, it still shows up regularly for shows meant for teens and older. The depictions of the damage it can cause are often softened for this younger audience (which one could argue is actually more desensitizing than the alternative) but the actual use remains prevalent. Do the people who take offense to this have the same vocal reaction to other representations? If not, how is a nonogram different?

I'm not taking offence, I just dislike it as a topic -- and I think most of the negative comments are about dislike rather than being offended. I like getting a clever or beautiful image as a reward when I finish the puzzle, and it's an unpleasant surprise to get a gun. I'd feel the same if I ended up with an image of something disgusting or obscene: like I'd been tricked into putting in time and effort to create an unpleasant image.
