Because it's not a sparrow but SPEAROW, a Pokemon...
It's kinda a combination of a Hawk and a Sparrow, this is one of it's sprites.

I think of these as the "Blob" series... and I'm quite enjoying them. Abstract art!

I've had that same thought with lots of puzzles - just a abstract blob... on the bright side, it forces you to solve logically rather than just completing the picture.

These look exactly like the tiny sprites from Pokémon, which is what they’re meant to be. They may be blurry, but they do actually come from something like that already. Like anything detailed at this size, they’re best viewed as thumbnails
they are better in thumbnail view, even if you don't know the image source, like me
replyI understand/know Pokemon, though I can't identify them specifically. It is easy for them to look "messy" in these puzzles. Interestingly an observation my daughter (of an age for Pokemon) but not a puzzler, thought it looked like someone coulda/woulda/shoulda enlarge anything on the computer and presto-chango your done, but that it doesn't always "translate" well.

Nice pic, easy to work out shades of colours, relaxing puzzle. Thank you for this one.
replyFound it relaxing to do the black outline first, then do all the colours one after another.
replyI wish there was a warning on these Pokemon puzzles, I'm sure they're great if you're familiar but I have no idea about them or what they look like and am always disappointed after spending time on a puzzle that,
for me, there is no result.

Not rating the picture cuz You just didn’t give yourself enough room to do this one justice. Grid was easy to follow.
