I'd say more pony. The mane makes it a equine, but the proportions are more pony than horse to me
Puzzles like this often fall into the trap of having multiple rows or columns that span the entire grid, essentially solving themselves. Small-boss manages to avoid that here, creating a puzzle that is just difficult enough to avoid being a paint-by-numbers affair. The overall solve is simple and straight-forward. Tedious at times due to many single pixel placements, but that speaks more to my preferences as a solver than Small-boss' skills as a constructor. The final stretch in the northeast is devious. The placement of the final pixels is obvious from the picture but difficult to work out purely logically. A splendid finale to an enjoyable puzzle.
The image itself is enjoyable and masterfully realized. The sense of motion really brings it to life and the shading creates realistic depth in a small field. Without spoiling anything, I'll just add this as my two cents to debate above: I recognized the image without the aid of the title. Well done, Small-boss.

Very cartoonish like. I thought it would be a character from Pokemon or something like that.
replyA very good puzzle, just not too sure about the image!
replyI thought it was on a rocker because of the angle at first but knew what it was otherwise.
