Very pretty picture, but those greens were brutal! I did a lot of clicking just to confirm I had the right shade...

If you hit "A left click on the number chooses the color" it makes it a lot easier to handle close colors. Still hard, but makes it much more manageable.

spoiler
Some of those darker shades were nearly indistinguishable on my screen; that "select the color by clicking on the number" really came in handy!
The green areas looks really nice with the shading, but the gray seems out of place. I think that's mostly from the straight-line transitions at the top and bottom of its throat(?), as well as only using one shade of gray versus six for green. Doing more of the border around the eye on the right (frog's left) might also help a little, but at this point I'm just nitpicking.
Looking at the thumbnail, the green area looks even better then it already did and the white/gray area doesn't seem as bad. In fact, I take back the full border around the eye suggestion, at thumbnail size, I think it's better how it is now. The straight line between between the throat and from feet still stands out to me, though.
Overall, while not perfect, it's still a really good final image, especially for this size and the thumbnail view only makes it better

I'm not even going to attempt this one because of how close the colors are. It is one thing if only 2 colors are close, but to have this many is too much.
replyOkay, I'm taking a poll:
What's worse? 1.) Solving a puzzle with 6 crazy similar colors?
or 2.) Brain freeze?
I'm picking the puzzle. My head's pounding! :)

About 1/3 of the way through and, yeah, I'm done. I'm sure it is a fun puzzle, but all of the greens and the 1-pixel moves is just too much for me. I'm gonna go find an Arina puzzle to cleanse my palate.
replyThis was a great challenge, and a great image at the end. Thanks!

was a challenge, nice shading , but lots of clicking, thanks
replyToo many similar greens - not going to waste my time on this.
replyMore of a fight to figure out the colors than a nonogram.
replyvery nice image but man those color choices hurt my brain
replyGreens 1 and 3 are indistinguishable on my computer.
replya very annoying puzzle. the colors were too close and to no great advantage to the end result. I haven't been able to dicern a style or purpose to your puzzles as yet and not sure I will even try. I have found them to be, as is this one, annoying more than challenging and you don't seem to care based on your response to valid comments. (the above example being "to bad" is just plain rude). Likely I will just skip any of yours in the future, although I'm sure you won't care.
replyThe best thing about art--whether it's a painting, prose, or a puzzle--is it's ability to evoke emotions. This little puzzle here has done just that. Reading the comments above, people are not just divided, but some outright angry at this puzzle. Others loved it. If you've read my any of my previous reviews (especially on color puzzles) it's not hard to know where I stand on this one. That said, Small-boss is an incredibly talented artist, and one who continues to produce the type of puzzle she wants regardless of what people think. There's something to admire there in doing what you want in the face of constant criticism. At the end of the day, artists create to sate their own need to express themselves, not to feed the masses only what they want to consume. My cynical heart loves that so many can't seem to stand this puzzle, and for that alone I applaud it.
replyI like a difficult puzzle, but "difficult because it requires a lot of thinking" isn't quite the same as "difficult because it strains the eyes to distinguish the colors." Having said that, though, this could have been a lot worse -- and, indeed, I've done some of those worse ones on this site. :)
replyI agree with JayH, it is difficult because the colours are too similar. This is not a puzzle for those who like an intellectual challenge.
replyI too found this to be a pretty easy puzzle. With a lot of full columns, it really just comes down to discerning the right colors and putting them in the right places. Not that much of a challenge, just time consuming.
replyIn the puzzle, Click on gear (Settings) // Management // advanced settings // Miscellaneous (at the bottom) // A left click on the number chooses the color I have it on left click and hold, rather than x the number out, it chooses that color. A life saver!
replyKeep doing you Small-boss, I thought this was fun and the result looks good. If folks don't want to do a puzzle, they don't have to, and it's not your problem
