0_o What's with the (seemingly random) letters/numbers in the puzzles? Are they a puzzle within a puzzle? This is the second one I've seen with them. If they are a puzzle, I won't be the one to solve them. I'm no good at that kind and I find them boring so I've never felt a desire to learn.

Those are not random numbers, the numbers stand for the years WWII started and ended.
reply...and this is a Russian website, seemingly with mostly Russian contributors, so the war is dated from the Axis invasion of June 22, 1941.
replyIt shows the Eternal Flame of remembrance for the millions of Russians who died in resisting and finally beating Hitler. If it hadn't been for Russia, all of Europe would have conquered by the Nazis.
