More challenging than it looked. And that’s the 2nd one I these I didn’t recognize. But thumbnail is great!
Good one to do using no Xs.
Harder than I expected, and this is another one where you have to look at the thumbnail to fully appreciate it.
I was stumped for a few minutes

Yes, you can solve it without guessing. Start with bluish color and then column third from right. Next few add just one square at a time and then you can eliminate more impossible patterns.

How do you solve the third column from the right after solving the "bluish"?
I'm still think it's impossible to solve without guessing... But maybe I'm just not smart enough?

In the third column from the right, the middle cell must be black. There's only four ways that the 1-2-1 pattern can be filled in those seven squares, but all of them requires the middle to be black. e.g.: #-##-#- #-##--# #--##-# -#-##-#

Wow, that's very ambitious. I managed to solve all the blue and two of the black ones.
I wasn't able to see the cross that you show in 00:50 in your video, and that helped me to solve the rest of the puzzle. Thanks! (c:

Rarely does a puzzle of this size manage to be both excellent in execution and quality of image. While the 81 pixel area severely limits what can be accomplished, the resulting image is undeniable. At thumbnail level, it is even more impressive. For a puzzle that one would expect to find in the black-and-white section, Emke's use of a third shade to impart shape is a stroke of genius. Allowing the color to form both the background and a natural border gives the subject a realness that could simply not have been achieved in B&W.
The quality of the solve here is admirable. The color section is deceptively easy followed by a series of fairly difficult single pixel placements. Each move is logical and precise, moving around the grid to slowly reveal the image. While it is a short solve, each pixel and 'X's is perfectly paced to create a final product that is more than the sum of its already very impressive parts.
Overall: Superb

The picture ends up being a bit 'blockage', resembling something from Minecraft.
