Japanese crossword «Captain Toad»

No clue as to who or what this is. But, it was a nice puzzle.

could not figure out the picture. had no idea what a "captain toad" was and even after a search couldn't see the character in the picture. sorry.

Hm, a toad is an animal which looks like a frog. Toad on Wikipedia:

This toad is a captain. In my opinion it looks more like a toad which is a Santa Claus. But after all this thinking, I started to love it!

Aside from a few colors being very similar and a bit difficult to differentiate, this was a lot of fun! I'm a bit confused as to why others weren't able to figure out what this is. I'm familiar with the subject, but even just typing the title into Google got me instant images of it. Oh well! Looks spot-on to me. Very nice. :)

The picture is very pretty but the puzzle is a bit tiresome since I had to switch color for every pixel! Good work nonetheless!

I'm surprised how few people know this character. He's easily recognizable for me - I realized halfway through the puzzle.
