Japanese crossword «Crane»

It's my first time solving coloured ones. In the FAQ it is mentioned that there is no empty space between different colours, only between same colours. But in this one the hints tell me there should be some spaces between different colours as well. How do I know whether different, adjacent colours have a space between or not?

reply@poystein there is always one or more space between groups of the same colour. between groups of different colours there may be one or more empty spaces, but this is not required.

Finding out where the whitespace goes is part of the puzzle, so you'll have to find this out yourself. ;) you'll get a feeling for it eventually

Lovely! Beautiful use of white space is a PolNOvik trademark.
replyTo Poystein: my advice is to practice on the small ones. They are also fun to do
