After doing this, I tried to look up about 'borovichok' because I wanted to learn more. However, I could not find many results. I appreciate fairies and folklore, so I would like to know about the origin of this character. What is he from?

I know it's a bit late but Old Man Borovichok comes from a Russian fairytale Morozko (the English analog is Jack Frost https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Frost_(1964_film ))
