Love the colors! Creeped me out a bit thinking it was a spider!

This beetle has 6 legs. The bits at the front are pincers.

Normally I'd put this in a spoiler, but... (see above). This is actually a scarab. The give-away is the shape of the antennae. It *is* the golden beetle, which reflects light in a number of ways so that it can appear gold or multi-colored. In ancient Egyptian religion, the scarab represented immortality, resurrection, transformation and protection. When Jung was listening to a woman tell a dream about the golden beetle, he heard a tapping at the window. It was a scarab, which thus became a symbol for the concept of synchronicity. There are actually over 30,000 species of beetle in the scarabaeidae family--most are not so pretty. ;) But the *real* questions are: Why is the Ministry of Magic creating this beautiful image of a golden scarab? Does it have magical properties? And what are they?

Thanks, Sheryl! I wouldn't have done any research over this one, even if it's made by a magician ;D I'm glad you explain all this because I've learn very interesting things about the symbols that I didn't know!
And now I'm very interesting too by the *real* questions, obviously ;D

Love this one, though the dark purple and black were difficult to distinguish for me.
