Good picture and quite a challenge. I thought it would be near impossible with colour 2 and 4 being so similar, but that was the least of the challenge :) Good one, thanks.

Of course, one color was assumed. I have replaced not everything when selected shades. I have not enough experience in big puzzles so far :(
replyGreat picture. Very challenging. I usually do not do large black and white nanos, but I enjoy your work and just had to see the finished nanogram.

Excellent image!
I must admit that I primarily know Lobachevsky through Tom Lehrer's song about how to succeed in the field of mathematics. I believe the actual man used more honest methods than the fictional version in the song, and that the name was picked solely because it sounded good.

I have been shocked with the text of this song! I have found history of her creation.
It has turned out that it has been written on a template of a song of Danny Caye "Stanislavsky", and the surname of Lobachevsky has just fitted into a rhythm!
It is awful that the 25-year Lerer for entertainment of friends has soiled a name of the honest person. I read about Lobachevsky much and I feel the deep respect for him.

I agree that it is unfortunate to use the name of a real mathematician in this kind of song, as there is no guarantee that everyone hearing it will do enough research to discover the truth.
It is the unfortunate fate of a lot of comedy, that the subtleties that make the joke apparent fade with time. It is also the kind of joke that is funny only because there has never been any question about Lobachevsky's work. This was also made clear by Lehrer, and the song is in no way attempting slander.
I personally find this form of comedy very entertaining, but under the condition stated above. I don't know about you, but this is a very common form of humor where I am from. I do however understand that it might have a different effect when it is written by someone from a different country than the person being made fun of.
I only hope that the people enjoying the song will take the time to look up the history behind it. Luckily that information is easily available, so it requires very little effort.

What an amazing puzzle you have created; I too don't usually work such large puzzles but I love your puzzles so took on the challenge. A really great likeness, well done Vigil.
