Nice, but is it possible to solve without trial and error?
replyIt looks like the puzzle needs trial and error to solve.
replyGreen part is tough, but it's doable without trial and error
replyI see the humans have made some interesting puzzles!
But nothing too hard for The Great Papyrus! Nyeh heh heh!

I solved without trial and error, so yeah it's possible
replyAll of the puzzles on this site can be solved without trial and error. They have a program that solves each submission to make sure. Nice palm tree. Thanks!
replyReally racked my brain to do this one, but it was FUN!!
replyAfter doing the trivial bottom, I was sure this was going to be easy. It took some effort to figure out the top.
replyI'm surprised so many have commented about the difficulty. Sure it's not the easiest one on the site, but I did it relatively fast. And I'm no where near an expert. Nice work anyway :)
replyAs Eva said, just the right level of challenge! Thank you :)
(And yes, as others have said, it can be solved without trial and error).

Can definitely be solved without trial and error - but it did require me to pick up some new tricks :-D
replyHad to re-visit this a couple of times before I could work it out - very good thank you :)
replybeautiful graphic but it took me trial and error to solve. I know we're not supposed to but I ran outta sure things!!!
replyBottom half was straight-forward. If the top is doable without trial and error (or using the "check puzzle" option), it's way too much work for another palm tree. I think it's more that people are using HUMAN logic to forsee the tree pattern and then filling in what they "logically" see is the next step. It's a form of logic, but it's still truly trial and error. I've not heard that there is a computer algorithm that solves these, but if that's true, maybe I need to try this one over. Too bad the picture is kinda boring. XP

This one *is* possible without trial and error and without assuming a particular solution type (tree or otherwise). Having said that, the tree does get really tricky at the end.
replyI got stuck midway through the leafs and had to make a guess.
replyThe first time I solved this puzzle, I used 95% logical deduction, then 5% trial and error at the end when the treetops got too tricky. After reading these comments, I decided to try the puzzle again, this time using 100% logical deduction and no guesswork or cheating. I did it - but it took me a long time. Very interesting puzzle.
replyClearly not a difficult one. It took me 23 minutes without any trial and error. Probably average difficulty.
replyTook me 18 minutes, longest ever for a small puzzle, nice challenge!! There is one trick that you need several times for the greens, but it's too complicated to explain here...
It has to do with the order of the squares if there's a repetition. If someone else can explain, please do, because if you know that trick you can solve almost all of the puzzles on the site.

This only took me 7 minutes, I didn't find it that hard, all very logical, but I have been doing them for a while so maybe I can see how to solve the tricky bits quite quickly. I think it's just practice. I find the middle size ones very challenging (sorted by difficulty descending).
replyI had to come back to this one after quite a while since I started it but eventually I solved it without hints or trial and error.
replyThanks for the challenge. A few if this then that statements and the puzzle is totally doable. I always start with the premise that we NEVER have to guess.

I got this puzzle today. I thoroughly agree with you. I think I'd most like to spend my Christmases in this setting. :)
replyNice! Small but really tricky in the upper half. It's rightfully among the most challenging puzzles around this size.
Bonus: Not a flower. :)

I found the green part very hard - in a few places I had to guess from the shape of the thing that it obviously was.
replyspoiler
Seeing seven full rows at the bottom, I thought to myself, "There's no way this is 3.5 stars difficulty. People are going a little overboard." Of course I knew this was going to get hard in the top part, but I didn't think it would be that difficult. I ended up taking over half an hour on the puzzle. This is fantastic!
If you're getting stuck, remember to consider the order in which the colors have to be placed in each row and column. That will help you to see that certain colors can only go in certain spots.

I just went back over this and realized that it only took me 54 seconds to finish the bottom 7 rows. The rest of the puzzle took me 32 minutes.
replyThe lower part is not a puzzle, it's a coloring book. But the palm is a very interesting puzzle. I can confirm it has a unique solution, and it's possible to do it without cheating.
