a wee bit tricky ending for a really good tiny puzzle.

Quick question for you "no x's" people. Obviously you don't right click to add an X, but do you still let the puzzle fill in the X's when you fill out a row/column?

My esteem for them will drop substantially if they let the Xs get filled in (I use Xs).

I'd be fine with them either way (and the answer is probably that there are both kinds of people). I think I could see myself not putting in X's and letting the site auto fill them when appropriate, but I don't think I'd ever completely ignore X's for anything bigger than a 10X10.
replyI redeemed myself by once doing a puzzle filling in only the Xs. BTW, my reasoning for not using Xs is because I am LAZY!

Did you really do one with only Xs? I think I can take credit for triggering that effort. And your alleged reasoning is flawed; it takes much more effort to work without Xs. But you still haven't answered the question: do you let the page fill in Xs automatically, or do you complete the puzzle without any X appearing?

You did indeed trigger my ONE TIME ONLY effort to use only Xs. I do indeed let the Xs fill in automatically, which is why I mentioned the redemption.

Ah, then my esteem has indeed dropped; which is not to say that I don't still hold you in high esteem, only that it was close to worship level while I was believing that no Xs at all were involved.

OK, from now on, on tiny and small puzzles I will turn off the automatic X thing. Anything above that would just serve to make the puzzle take longer and I do not wish to do that.
