An excellent image - and so very true to life!
I have met this creature many, many times on canal towpaths. I had no escape with a wall to my right & water to my left (sometimes the other way round) & this hissing & honking thing bearing down on me at speed!

Had the same thing when I was very young, only it was a swan - never really liked them since !!
