You and I have both done well over 10,000 puzzles each. I don't recall seeing one either.

I haven't done as many as you two, but I've done 7,455 and I've never seen one either!
replyHere's a bit of info for you: a chain, hanging from two points separated by a horizontal distance, forms a shape called a catenary -- that shape minimizes gravitational potential energy along its length. That shape turned upside down, is optimal for distributing gravitational force along its length -- forces act along its length, so it doesn't bulge out anywhere. And that is the shape of a properly constructed igloo, which the Inuit discovered by trial and error and observation, without the theoretical math of modern engineering.

It's actually quite cozy inside as long as the ice is lined with animal skins. The ice is an excellent insulator so the inside air warms up. A small hole creates an updraft drawing in fresh air through the entry tunnel. Very comfortable.
replyAh, I'm sure I've done this one before because I've done all of mindscrub's puzzles, but I don't remember doing it. This came up as a random puzzle, and when I was done, I had to see who the author was -- what a delight!
