I suppose it could be that, too, but I intended "dig it".

Did you mean "mindscrub"? Or was "mindspring" meant to refer to something else?

Right, I don't know where "mindspring" came from.

That was great to solve, thanks! I did it without Xs, and at one point most of it just snapped into place as if it had been lit up!

Dear Author,
You have drawn a very beautiful nine-candlestick for the holiday of Hanukkah, but it is called not "Menorah", but "Hanukia". In the traditional menorah, which is lit on Saturdays, there are 7 candles, and in the Hanukkah, which is lit only during Hanukkah, there are 9 candles.
Thank you for the holiday reminder and Chag sameach Hanukkah!)))

As I understand it, any lamp is a menorah, so calling a hanukkiah a "menorah" is correct, even a single candle with no religious connection is a menorah. Usually, though, "menorah" refers to the 7-candle version.

Formally you are right. Formally, Hanukkah can be called the "Hanukkah Menorah".
But they symbolize completely different things. And the form of Hanukkah was originally much more diverse than that of the menorah. And functionally, they differ, although they are connected with the Temple: the menorah is a sacred temple attribute, Hanukkah is an accessory of a particular holiday, not used in other rituals.
Therefore, in order not to confuse the Hanukkah menorah with the Menorah, which stood in the Jerusalem Temple, the word "hanukiah" is used in Israel.

Thanks, you're right -- "hanukkiah" is more precise and avoids confusion.

You are right too. Above such nuances think mainly in Israel. Outside of Israel, hanukkiah is still called the menorah almost everywhere and they are not very worried about this)))
I didn't mean to blame the author for a mistake. I just wanted to clarify the title a bit. If you have a different impression - I apologize, my English is far from perfect.

Clarification is good, I always welcome it. My English is not perfect, either, but it's the only language I've got.
