Gingerbread men are tasty. If I were a gingerbread man, I'd be a cannibal.

Here's the Merriam-Webster definition of cannibal: one that eats the flesh of its own kind. So a cannibal gingerbread man is a gingerbread man that eats other gingerbread men, not a gingerbread man that eats people. The term "cannibalistic" is often applied to animals that eat their own kind. It has nothing to do with whether or not they eat people (except when applied to people). The point was that if I were a gingerbread man, and retained my taste for gingerbread men, then I'd eat other gingerbread man. I wasn't suggesting that I'm currently a cannibal, and that my food preferences would change if I were a gingerbread man. The clear implication was that my food preferences would be unchanged, and therefore I would become a cannibal.
