Japanese crossword «Maple leaf»

That got revised to "lily, thistle, shamrock, rose" when it got to where the French contribution could no longer be left out. No doubt someone will try to revise it again in recognition of those who were here long before Europeans got here, but no one sings it any more, and that's where it should be left.

Besides that, I don't recognize the image as a maple leaf. That might be intended as a comment on this topic.
