Certainly more romantic than mine--in her office with her desk between us. She spent a month trying to tell me I was crazy, and three more before she answered. But it's been 41+ years now, so I guess it all worked out.

I'm impressed. I don't think I would have had the guts to do that ... but I never had a boss who I wanted to be married to, either.

I had (unrelated to our relationship--work or personal) asked to be transferred to another department, and it was "sure, as soon as we find a replacement for you". During the four months it took for her to answer the question, she was still my boss, but as soon as we announced our engagement it suddenly became unnecessary to wait for a replacement.

That's a good story; it's good to have a few of those in your personal history. But it's better to have a good marriage, with or without a good story.
replyMy husband and I used to deliver pizza. I was his supervisor. He had long hair which was a no no. But he cut it so that it looked like short hair when he had his cap on. The district supervisor started hanging around and did not know this. I fired my hubby so that I wouldn't get fired because everyone, but me could pretend that they didn't know. But, I couldn't. Supervisor comes in asks where hubby is I tell him I fired him and why. He hired him right back. We are both still blissfully married after 31+ years together.
