It is like a Venn diagram, but not quite. It captures the circles overlap, all right. But in a Venn diagram, the shared area reveals what the circles have in common, but here the overlapped area shows an angry face. If it would show a figure with a straight line as mouth, then it would be a perfect Venn diagram, syntatically and semantically!

If you see the overlap as a face looking to the right, I agree it looks angry. But if you imagine it looking left, it has a smile. So, like comedy and tragedy, a great deal is in the eye of the beholder.
