in Russian , the riddle sounds like this : "А и б сидели на трубе. а упала, б пропала, кто остался на трубе?" . "и" is a preposition and (&), as well as a letter of russian alphabet

Translation: A and B were sitting on a pipe. A fell down, B was lost, who was left on the pipe? As Styusha explained, “and” in Russian is one letter, и, so и was left on the pipe.
Reminds me a little bit of this (English) riddle I remember from my childhood: “Railroad crossing, look out for the cars! Can you spell that without any R’s?” Answer: T-H-A-T.

Is this Russian? If so, the middle letter on the conveyor belt? is an English "I". That's as far as I can get.
