This was very tedious. Maybe I missed something, but I kept having to double check every row and column to see if I could get just one more cell. Then repeat to get one more cell. Over and over again. I used all of my hints and each one only got me only a little bit further, and each time they confirmed to me that I really was only able to get something by double checking everything.
Ultimately I ended up cheating to finish this one just because the solve was so boring.
The picture is ok, but my opinion of it is tainted by how annoying it was to get.

I'd say challenging rather than annoying. If your goal is just to race through and get to the result, I can see your point. I loved the challenge of this puzzle and the attention it required. I've never used a hint on any puzzle on the site and have been able to solve them all. Maybe slow down and appreciate the puzzle rather than try and solve as quickly as possible? Ultimately, different strokes for different folks but I really enjoyed this.

I found it opened up quite nicely - certainly the last half.

There is certainly a good bit of hunting and pecking one pixel at a time until a certain key square is filled in. Once found, it sails right along. Given this rapid change in pace, I would agree that the beginning of the puzzle was indeed tedious. And essentially needing a single pixel in a puzzle comprised of 625 of them to break through was rather annoying. I think for Primalmoon the real issue is that they burned all their hints too quickly. The 'eureka' moment when the puzzle finally opened up was well worth it... I enjoyed that more than the final image.

Yes, it was really rewarding how the puzzle blooms!
replyI agree - challenging! I love when I feel like I've checked everything carefully and can't find an opening ... and then eureka! There it is. This happened several times here. It's my favorite kind of puzzle: not too big but very tricky to finish using pure logic.
replyPrimalmoon, everyone likes different kinds of puzzles. This was maybe kind of tedious, but certainly not as hard as some. I didn't need to use any hints and never had to use any more advanced techniques. You could always add more pixels just looking at 1 line at a time. Maybe you will learn to appreciate the harder puzzles, or maybe you should just try the ones with1 or 2 stars on the difficulty.

In my neck of the woods, it's more like "January, February, March, and April showers bring May showers." But if we're lucky, we can find snowdrops in February, crocuses in March, and cherry blossoms in all their glory towards the end of March. It's one of the things I love about living in the SW corner of Canada.
Taking this site’s grading into consideration, I have done more difficult ones many times but this one was simply the 'hardest ever' for me.. Yet, was able to conclude without any hints...
replyGreat challenge, with just the appropriate reward at the end.
replyThis was a lot harder to get started than I expected. Well done, nice challenge!
replyLove the slow unfolding, one tiny puzzle at a time.

I'm thinking 542 puzzles aren't quite enough under your belt to appreciate the excellence of this one.
replyHalf way through I was comvinced it was going to be a motorbike!
replyVery nice - I didn't find it difficult but then two years ago I wouldn't have been able to do it at all ! Thank you :))
