We rehomed her when she was 5 & previous owner had done nothing with her. She hadn't been walked on a lead - didn't know how to navigate steps & had never seen standing water - first thing she did was to attempt to walk across our pond. She sank of course!
She died on her 14th birthday last year but had 9 great years with us. The fastest she got was a slow canter!
