If you have sound turned on you hear ta-da when you complete the puzzle.

I get it on the first puzzle I solve after I've had to reboot, then it goes away. But not every reboot. As a programmer I really dislike random unexplained events.

There is a setting called "Sound of a successfully solved crossword puzzle" under Experimental Settings which can be turned off.

There is a setting to turn it off. Click on the gear icon, scroll all the way down to "experimental functions", and change "Sound of a successfully solved crossword puzzle" to "Off"
