Difficulty doesn't make a puzzle good, and a simple puzzle isn't necessarily bad. Kozochka's latest falls somewhere in the middle. It isn't so simple as to be paint-by-numbers, but there is little here to test your solving prowess. The symmetry works well for the final image, but from a solver's perspective it makes a puzzle very one-dimensional.
The resulting image is pleasing. The head-on perspective is fresh, and even with scant details it is easy to discern without the title. I find myself wanting for just a bit more. A slightly larger canvas would allow for details in the eyes while keeping the creator's symmetry, and negative space in the ears could have added depth. It's nice, but feels like a first draft that was good enough not to put any more work into.
