Ya' it was a side view of a frog with his mouth open, until it wasn't.
Do you know that these can go 45 mph? Guess the tortoise really had to work hard to win!

Mindscrub delivers an excellent puzzle. For a subject that crops up with about as much frequency as snails and butterflies, the constructor has managed to create a unique image this is both recognizable and full of life. The action in this puzzle is superb, and the way the creator has captured his subject mid-stride is all the more enjoyable. The difficulty is rating (currently 2.5 stars) is spot-on, providing a reasonable challenge for seasoned solvers. Getting started on this puzzle is the hardest part, and the pay-off is well worth picking out each logical leap to get to the next step.

Thank you! All positive from ultracritical is hard to achieve. To show my train of thought here, I wanted an easily recognizable rabbit pose that hadn't been attempted before, and the dashing bunny came to mind. The problem is that outlines of realistic objects can't be solved as nonograms until you add more. I have resorted to meaningless filler on the edges, but it is a cheat, really. So I came up with idea of speed lines for this one. It was still quite hard to make it solvable without compromising the picture, but I finally got it to work out after a few dozen attempts.

Your perseverance paid off. I personally do not care for extraneous background shading just for the sake of making a puzzle solvable. It adds nothing to the believability of the image, and for some creators is used as a crutch to keep churning out subpar work. Whether the speed lines were used to make it solvable or an artistic choice, they're just what this puzzle needed to give it that little extra touch. Very reminiscent comic strip artwork. Thank you for the insight into your creative process!

Look at that S Car Go!
Oh, sorry, wrong puzzle!
It was moving so fast, it left a snail in its wake.

Very nice, kept me guessing until the last. Thank you.
replyGreat picture, love the dynamism! Thanks, mindscrub :)
replyBesides the beautiful action packed image, what is also quite remarkable is how the image stayed hidden until the very end and then was so recognizable that I was left wondering how I didn’t see it even just a bit earlier. We miss you Mindscrub. Hope all is well!
