I've been sharing these books with my grandchildren since the first one came out. I can remember my oldest grandson and I pre-ordering each book and waiting anxiously for it to arrive. He and I went to the first 3 movies together. After the third one, he decided he didn't want to watch any more because it was so disappointing.

We bought a copy of The Philosopher's Stone on vacation in England before HP was heard of in the US. Darling Daughter had finished the ~20 books she'd brought along, and the owner of the bookshop said he'd been hearing good things about it. Maybe it might take off.
