Is it an octopus or snow man with hat? Can't figure it out...
replythis is more than 2.5 stars difficult. I can't get it no matter what.

harder than a normal 2.5 star game, took me lots of time...
replyCan be solved without trial and error. Just check all the columns thoroughly when you get stuck.
replyI like this puzzle. It's not simple, but still interesting to do
replyI don't understand the comments about difficulty. I didn't find this puzzle hard. It did take longer than usual to do though checking each column at the start
replyI too found this impossible to solve without trial and error which I am not a fan of. I've double-checked every row and column several times and there's no way to continue past the first 20 or so squares and X's.
replyI got stuck too. REALLY stuck. i had to cheat... ^_^;;;;;;
replyuff.. it's possible to solve it without trials and errors but you have to be VERY careful.. i couldn't...
replyTook a long time, but was able to solve without trial and error. Gotta do a lot of work around the edges.
replyNo trial and error needed, it is more than 3,5 difficult though: a lot of "ok, this might be a two, three or four but in either case the square above it has to be a blank"
replySomtimes I'm really tired of counting and counting and counting all those squares again and again. No fun.
replyYes, you can solve it without trial and error. Just did it exactly that.
replyQuite ok, not that tough! :)
I tip my hat off to this one.

I enjoyed working this one. I would tip my hat to it, if I had one... Not a beginner puzzle.
replygreat puzzle, it can be done without trial and error. One box made the difference
replyOVERLOOKED STEP IN FINDING SOLUTIONS: When stuck, look at each edge and ask what solution in the first line leads to the second line and so on. In this puzzle, there are four rows of four (down and almost across) at the top. I learned this step in another nonogram S/W program. It helps with some puzzles, is useless with others.

Please don't blame yourself or the puzzle if it's frustrating. It takes a lot of practice to master this game--that's what makes it fun (for some of us). Just use the hints and learn from them...
replyAverage difficulty for me. No hint, not guess. About 45 minutes to solve because you have to check/recheck/rerecheck for simple things.
I had to rely twice on more subtle methods.

It's difficult. I had to look for things like: In this room can be a 4, or a 1 and a 4. In both situations this position will contain a cross. And by doing this for several positions it finally got easier again.
replyInterestingly, I found this easier than many 3-star puzzles I've done (currently this is rated 3.5 stars).
There must be some interesting differences in the way people think that make certain puzzles easier or harder!

Oh, and I didn't even catch the little top hat until I looked at the thumbnail! Super cute!!
Did it, but it was hard - my brain wasn't cooperating.
replyLogic will do it. No need for hints or guessing. But use the edges to eliminate some possibilities. It's not just about what logically must be; it's also logically about what cannot be
