Poach some haddock & parsley in milk when cooked - remove fish & place on a bed of mash. Thicken sauce with cornflour Pour over fish, eat & say "ahhhhhhhhh"

It's not a 10' pole - it's a barge pole (see canals) & no - I grew up with this dish & still cook it at least every 2 weeks for my better half & me! It is the very best comfort food EVER!
