Well, the idea made sense. I guess it just shows that you can't know what you don't know. You know the old there are known knowns and unknown unknowns; however that statement went.

I don't know it and am too lazy to research, but I'd think known unknowns and unknown unknowns would make more sense to talk about.

Well you can't know what you don't know. A lot of things in history are OOPSIE moments. Right now I can only think of one big one and that is bringing disease to the New World not knowing it would wipe out the inhabitants.

You can say "I don't know A and I don't know B"--those would be known unknowns. But if there's a C that you don't even know exists, C would be an unknown unknown.
