Somewhere (I think England, but I'm not betting on it) they're called ladybirds; and the difference between a bird and a birb is clearly trivial. Now if it had been lAddybirbs we might have run into trouble in backwards places where trans people (or I guess trans insects) are persecuted.

Yes, they are known as ladybirds in Britain and even American entomologists prefer the term "ladybird beetle" because they aren't "true bugs". Originally they were called "bird of Our Lady" because they're so pretty.
