I thought I had a woman (with really big hair, a huge nose, and very square features) with that thing on the right being a scepter? a gavel?
replyI love these smaller challenging puzzles. So much easier on my eyes! Note: this is not a beginner puzzle.

the beginning was challenging, but after that it was very doable :) and a lovely cute little picture!

The top row=5, the second row two 2's. A tool I was taught in another nonogram program was to look for patterns on the edges that lead to the second and third rows (more, actually, but that game included an eraser). In this case, yes--there are three 1's with a larger number on either end. Does this set the third row up correctly? Yes. You have your top two rows and part of the third. It took a lot of practice with the eraser before I could see these patterns.

Clarification: The number of consecutive 1's on the edge should be two less than the number you need. If the number across the top was a 10, there would have to be exactly eight 1's in a row with a larger number on each end (and in only one possible place). Have fun!

I don't understand a bit about the explanation of an alternative way of solving, but I didn;t need it either. I liked the challenge and the pic.

replyThe difficulty rating on this puzzle is far too high. I've had more trouble with some 2 star difficult puzzles than I did on this one, which was no trouble at all. I didn't have to backtrack to find a mistake even one time.
