Meet one of these in person and you will be intimidated. They are so quiet you never hear them coming.

in no english languages animals and objects could be feminine or masculine

A female is female in any language. I wasn't talking about that. I was doing an owl call.

Max didn't say female, they said feminine. They might've made a false assumption in the comment about feminine and masculine words, but it doesn't make what they said incorrect or misstated. And you could certainly have corrected the false assumption without trying to belittle or misrepresent the comment that resulted form it.
Also no, it's not. In Spanish, hembra means female. In Portuguese, the feminine version of female is fêmea and the masculine version is fêmeo. While in Swahili, the word for female is bikangna. Clearly, female is not female in any language - and frankly, that's a pretty silly argument to ever make. Given how few words are identical between most of the 6000+ languages at use through the world. Not even the word "language" is the same in any language.

I wasn't belittling anyone, or misrepresenting anything, or trying to correct any assumptions. I was just sticking to what I started with -- doing an owl call. It's interesting, and surprising to me, that Portuguese has a masculine form of "female". Meanwhile, I stand by my claim that female is female in any language. That doesn't conflict with your comments; I'm talking about the sex of a being -- which has nothing to do with language, and so is the same regardless of which language is used to talk about it -- not about feminine gender in language and not about the specific words used.

Then your claim just conflicts with reality, science, biology, etc. There are more than just males and females in many species, including humans. And that's entirely aside from gender identity and people who identify as trans. Genetically there are about a dozen chromosomal/gamete variations besides standard XX and XY, many of which result in alterations to primary and secondary sex traits. In some very rare cases, people can even be born with both sets of internal reproductive organs.
So, again, no, female isn't female in any language - including the language of science.

If you start with female, then what is that other than female? I said that "a female is a female", referring to sex, to distinguish from the linguistic genders that Max referred to. It's true that it's not as clear cut a category as was once thought, but that's well outside of what I was talking about; to the extent that "female" is meaningful, it has that meaning in any language. There was nothing in what I said that demanded a discussion of gender politics.

Well I hope that's put an end to all this contrived 'woke' nonsense. I use these puzzles to get away from all that cr*p!

There is a lot of nonsense in the woke movement, but underneath it all is some important stuff. I can forgive people who have lived with the pressure to hide who they really are, and who are suddenly free from that pressure, for being overly exuberant about it all. And I'm quite sure that I haven't put an end to anything. (And there are other issues that I would like to, but don't, get away from with these puzzles.)

I like how there's a tree in the background, it's not just the owl.

Lovely picture, but what's this silly 'she never sleeps' business?!?

I love this! It was fun to solve, challenging but not excessively, and I had no idea what the thing on the left was until the last pixel. So many puzzles on this theme are alike, but this one is beautifully different and realistic. Thank you, ShandorLa!
