But I'm not sure. That doesn't look like one. It doesn't look like anything. A translation error, perhaps? (but even then, what is it?)

Very good image. Looks exactly like the title. Can't say I've seen this image on this site, so kudos for something new.

That is excellent! and I LOVE the subject. When I first learned about how kidneys worked, I felt like maybe William Paley (1743-1805) was right. (He was the guy who argued that the eyeball was proof of God: If you found a watch on the ground, you'd have to assume a watchmaker)
The Kidney is an AMAZING bit of engineering! The glomerulous, Bowman's capsule, the loop of Henley, Wow! Once you see the structure, it is really clear how it works. That's why artificial kidneys (dialysis machines) go all the way back to the 1940s.
Just to be clear, I'm NOT trying to argue from design, but I do think Nature is AMAZING, and on alternate Tuesdays, because of things like the kidney, I believe there must be some kind of higher power who set it all in motion.

It looks like a cut in half lambs kidney if you squint
Really loved this image! For this size I think it really looks like one. Loved the surprise! (I thought it was a fetus at first)
replyI guess I'm relieved at what it actually is, since I was thinking fetus

Very good representation in a small image. My husband was in treatment for them since before we were engaged. So I learned a lot about them. He passed away a couple years ago (I miss him terribly), because the treatment process is hard on the rest of the body. But when you learn about the amazing work that the human body does it puts you in awe of it and the creator! Kudos!!
replyIt is with a sad and heavy heart that I begin my sworn duty of recanting the illustrious life story of one Justin Morrow. Born to Swedish folk dancers while travelling abroad in Germany, the onset of Justin Morrow's life was simple and unassuming. It would come as a great surprise to many that in the years to come, Justin Morrow touched the hearts of nations and peoples across the globe. His recent passing shook those that knew him to their very cores. He was honored in a ceremony that was graced by kings, presidents, titans of industry and common folk alike. But while his influence was felt by thousands, the true story of his life, and untimely death, is mine alone to document here for the world to know.
Many of you know Justin Morrow. You know of his deeds. His heroics. His bravery and his sacrifice. For those that do not, in the coming weeks, you will be awed by the tale of one man who changed the world as we know it. This will henceforth be know as: The Justin Morrow Affair.
Enjoy.
