I agree on the first part but this 25x25 puzzle in 23 minutes, hmm.
I consider myself an advanced player and it took me 44 minutes.

This was very difficult. It took me a half an hour to complete! Seems like there was never a point where the squares fell right into place--each move was a struggle.

Looks like me because "I am the walrus"

You can't - it's stuck there for at least 3 days LOL

I was going to reply, I guess that makes me the apeman. But, I am no good with lyrics so I checked only to find out all of these years it has been I am the EGG man. Then I was going to add Coo Coo Ca Choo. Only to find that it is goo goo g'joob

LOL - for a lot of years I thought that the song lyrics "I'm every woman" was "Climb every woman"

I have so many examples of "wrong" lyrics, I could write a book.

They're called "mondegreens", because an old ballad had the line "They brought his body back and they laid him on the green" [first part of the line probably incorrect but irrelevant] was famously heard as "They brought his body back and the Lady Mondegreen."

I had to look that up. I thought you were telling me the walrus was called a mondegreen. Some days I am slow.
I wish there were more than 3 hints because I always learn from them and don't like simply guessing to finish a puzzle, which I had to do with this one! Lalopop, you sure do create toughies... and with excellent results. Definitely worth the effort.

Thanks! (^_^) You can clear the puzzle and start again with 3 hints and the known tricks. I use it sometimes
show: 1 🗨
There is no need to start all over again if you open the same puzzle twice at the point where you're stuck and have the urge to take your first hint. Ergo: the second tab is a sort of backup with all three hints still available. I'm Just saying...
do the hints tell you information that you'd be able to learn from what you already know, or do they just reveal squares?
show: 3 🗨
The hints give you a possible next move, so if it's something you just missed, you kick yourself, but if it's something you didn't realize you should be looking for, you learn. Or, sometimes, you can't see why it's possible and just accept that you got a bit of a boost!

that's great, thankyou!

That was a hard one - I made mistakes right from the beginning. Nevertheless, I enjoyed solving the puzzle - thank you very much.
Excellent!
Tough all the way through - unusual. Good.

Expression on its face looks like it is enjoying the fact that we have to use hints. (Though when I used a hint it pointed out something that should have been COMPLETELY OBVIOUS. Hmph! :-)
I love how you can make challenging small/medium puzzles. Keep up with the amazing job!
I needed a clue early on to solve this, but I couldn't understand the logical reason for the clue. Excellent puzzle and picture.
Awesome. The picture is truly a surprise
Really difficult in the early stages.
has anyone ever solved it without hints or without relying on the puzzle highlighting the errors?
without these, it seems to be unsolvable.

Solvable! it just required assuming that this or that number is located in the corner and fill in others. eventually you see that other numbers don't fit (sometimes it required quite a lot of 'test' fills) and eventually cross out some of the cells that bring you to the solution.

A lot of puzzles rely on what something can't be to help you eliminate squares, for example

If I think the left 2 spaces contain the 2, then the filled in 4th space must be part of the 4. If I try to fill it in that way though I get this
https://i.imgur.com/K7GJCp9.png
That's 5, not 4, so we know that the 2 left spaces aren't the 2, so the 2 must be made from that already filled in square
https://i.imgur.com/NIPAxJn.png
Now we know that other filled in square is part of the 4, and that the square to the right of it has to be filled in too
https://i.imgur.com/vmMeSej.png
Without pointing to a specific part I don't really know where you got stuck so I can't give you more tailored advice, but like Lalopop said, the hints are smart and only show moves that you could yourself logically deduce, so if you need to use one make sure to figure out why it did that. That helps you build your skills so in the future you can remember and do those techniques yourself without hints.

Nice puzzle, instant recognition of the walrus, and I'm usually slow. Very well done.
I never use hints so it was very hard but totally fun.
Had to use a hint near the beginning because I forgot a common technique. After that it was pretty smooth sailing.
Great image - 14:57 for me, but I spend waaaaaay too much time doing these!
Tough but enjoyable. You can solve this without hints, or without using trial and error. There is one tough bit near the beginning, but after that it is OK. Thanks.
Man that was pretty hard. Had to use bit of trial and error at the edges. Great puzzle.
took me 1:11 without hints or trial & error - I'm no expert but I think I know all the standard techniques. really fun puzzle
