It may have something to do with the traditional Russian items used in their sauna (banya) along with the traditional broom (venik). Here is a link to what may be a photo: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41ZcBpv5nYL._AC_.jpg

I know this is an old comment, but I ran into the same issue and stalled for quite a while. For those solving this in the future:
There is a point in this puzzle where as far as I can tell there is only one spot that can be marked. Look for the spot where no configuration will allow painting that square.

Really? I didn't come to such a point. This puzzle was fairly easy. It did take me a little longer that a normal puzzle for this size, but still only 6 minutes.
replyFor me it was a spot that had to have an x in it. Took a while to see it
replyYes. I'd be happy to help anyone who send me a screenshot at nonog(at)riseup.net
replythis is an old Russian cartoon "plasticine crow" only Russian elderly people will understand.

For people who understand Russian and a have a sense of humor, this is really funny and clever. It's sort of an absurdist take for kids on a fable about the crow and the fox.

A search for Russian plasticine crow provides a good photo. I don't know if this link will work: https://youtu.be/KtvzOyr4UEQ

That link works, and is interesting, but I still don't see the connection to the nonogram image, nor recognize what the nonogram image is.

I can't work out this picture. Is it a face in the bottom half, or a puddle of water?
