I was thinking "moose" , but an elk's the same thing, isn't it?

Definitely different things. Moose are much larger whereas elk are more like reindeer.

Alces alces is called elk in Europe and moose in North America. I'm sure that's what this is based on the shape of the face. In North America,we use "elk" for Cervus canadensis, which is closely related to Cervus elaphas, the red deer of Eurasia, though the N American species is usually much larger. Reindeer are different from Alces and Cervus. I am obviously a zoology geek.

Almost looks like a reindeer I enjoy the ambiguity the small size gives this.
