Excellent image!
Now - I'm not going to be the to say "Snowflakes don't have 8 points - they have 6"
(Ooops - I just did!)
But my reason for saying that is not to criticise - but to throw down a challenge!
Can anyone design a nonogram of a snowflake that is symmetrical & has the magical 6 points???

I"m just waiting for someone to make a column crystal, or some form of snowflake that's not the obvious type.

Interesting article, thank you. But the problem is that the classification has categories “irregular” and “other precipitation”, which makes me think that maybe any shape of snowflake is possible…
replypretty, the pattern reminds me of a quilt my grandmother had.
replyThe symmetry made for a fun challenge! Beautiful image.
replyLovely puzzle and image! It was a unique challenge that seemed tough based on the numbers, but in reality was doable AND enjoyable. :)

I really like it.
But it seems like lace to me :)
But it seems like lace to me :)
pretty pattern, but not a snowflake, they have 6 points, they made of hexagons, not squares
replyLove the design... This would make a great quilt.
replyI've never solved a puzzle that was symmetrical both vertically and horizontally. This was so interesting and very cool to solve.

Loved the perfect symmetry, but since snowflakes do have 6 points as people have mentioned, may I suggest instead that this is a Granny Square?
