These are still found on old farmhouse tables in rural parts of the US, and I'd wager Russia too. Plus they are still made today, for those people who really do everything "from scratch." It may seem outdated a bit, but it's hardly more odd or quirky than a table fan or a handmixer.

And this is very well formed image. No doubt of what the subject was when it was done.

I would call this a food mill - my mother had something like this that you could use to puree almost any kind of food. I may still have it somewhere. Perhaps there are minor differences between a meat grinder and a food mill, t this silhouette could serve for either
