Yeah, slow going at the start. If you're stuck: consider that the 18/12 column extends 31 spots to the right after you discover the empty spots on the left of that row and will reveal four new solved spaces in the 12 segment after you also discover the empty spaces on the right. That'll end up revealing on which side of the central emptiness area the 15 and 16 rows spill their beans. Then it's smooth sailing.
