Japanese crossword «Buratino (Russian fairytale's character)»

Thank you for this very interesting crossword! According to Femme Appeal, Buratino is Tolstoy's re-telling of Pinnochio. According to Vigil, it is made into a children's toy which can be used as a game--try to toss the key onto the nose. I am curious as to the significance of the key in Tolstoy's re-telling.
