FUN FACT: "soccer" is derived from the abbreviation "socca" which is short for "association" which used to be shorthand for "The Association of American Football"

Soccer derived from association football: true. American? Nah, that's British slang, they just moved on from it eventually and America stuck with it. Australia and New Zealand are in the process of moving on from "soccer" and it will be left to America which will likely keep it as long as pints and miles and Fahrenheit temperature.

replyGreat feeling of movement. Pleasantly difficult - I was never completely at a loss. Thank you.
